So many people have confusion about the easiest and safest ways to reduce their weight. Many have tried crash diets, diet restriction, no carb diets, shakes, group meetings, meal replacements, gym memberships, dieticians, pills, and the list just goes on and on.
Health and body image are among a range of factors that can influence what and how people eat. Dieting may be one response to these particular concerns. In 2011-12, over 2.3 million Australians (13%) aged 15 years and over reported that they were on a diet to lose weight.
Around half (49%) of people on a diet described the type of diet they were on as Weight loss or low calorie, with a higher proportion of female dieters being on a Weight loss or low-calorie diet than men (53% and 44% respectively).
Australians are predicted to spend $6.6 billion on the health and weight-loss industries in 2013 – 2014, according to research by IBISWorld.
The industry analyst organisation found that boom businesses will be personal training, gym memberships, weight-loss products and weight-loss counselling services such as wellbeing and nutrition advice. It forecast that spend on gym memberships in 2013 – 14 will be $858 million, increasing to over $1 billion in 2018-19.
Other areas set to do well are sports clubs, training and club memberships, which are forecast to rise from $737.5 million in 2013-13 to $757 million in 2018-19. Weight-loss counselling services spend in 2013-14 is forecast at $332.8 million, expected to rise to $385.8 million in $2018-19. Weight-loss product businesses can also look forward to lots of improvement, with the current spend forecast at $280.7 million, expected to rise to $327.6 million in 2018-19.
Then we have those smart people, often due to all else failing them, who choose to lose weight using natural and safe Hypnotherapy. Many people using hypnotherapy for weight loss indicate they often leave it as a last resort. Many don’t understand hypnotherapy and how their mind can enable weight loss, better food choices and smaller consumed portions. It does.
Effects of weight loss using hypnotherapy, according to research by Kirsch (1996) who states “The addition of hypnosis appears to have a significant and substantial effect on the outcome of cognitive-behavioural treatment for weight reduction, and this effect increases over time.” An extensive study was conducted with one group using hypnotherapy and other groups using normal mainstream methods.
The mean weight loss reported in the five studies indicates that “the impact of hypnosis increases over time, suggesting that it is especially useful for long-term maintenance of weight loss.” Hypnotherapy demonstrated the clinical efficacy, the cost effectiveness and the safety and quality of clinical hypnotherapy according to the study.
According to Cochrane et.al. (1986), Hypnosis is over 30 times more effective for Weight Loss. Hypnosis was more effective with an average of 17 lbs lost by the hypnosis group vs. a control group using standard weight loss supplements and diets, with only 0.5 lbs lost by the control group on follow-up. Researchers at the University of Connecticut analysed 18 studies and found those who received hypnosis lost more weight than 90 percent of those not receiving hypnosis and maintained the weight loss two years after treatment ended.
